State of Kansas - Kansas State Flag Color
Sheet
Flag Meaning: A variation of the state seal is centered in a dark blue rectangle. The circle surrounding the seal is trimmed with a wreath that symbolizes the Louisiana purchase that Kansas was a part of. A sunflower, the state flower is pictured above the seal. The 34 stars clustered at the top of the seal, represent Kansas as the 34th state to join the Union. The state motto appears above the stars - "Ad Astra per Aspera", which is Latin for "To the Stars through Difficulties."The word "Kansas" appears below the seal. The flag was adopted in 1927.
