Spritz Butter Cookies Recipe

Spritz Cookies make perfect Christmas cookies for the holiday. They're small and melt in your mouth!
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp almond extract
- colored sprinkles
Sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in butter into dry ingredients. Measure egg and add water to be 1/4 cup. Beat. Combine with dry mixture until smooth. You may want to split the dough into different bowls and add food coloring. My kids always liked their cookies green or red. Chill for 1 hour.
Spoon dough into cookie gun. Squirt out Christmas shapes onto cookie sheet being careful not to squirt too generously. Sprinkle with colored sugar crystals. Bake at 375 degress for 10-12 minutes.
