Pedro's Journal by Pam Conrad
Pedro's journal is about a boy who traveled with Christopher Columbus on the Santa Maria to find a new land. He was allowed to make the journey because he could read and write - something very useful to document the journey. The book not only portrays history, it is an excellent example of journal writing. Students get a sense of "being there" by looking at the journey through the eyes of this young boy. |
