Abuela by Arthur Dorros Narrated by a Hispanic-American child - she imagines herself flying away with her loving abuela (grandmother). From the air, they see New York streets. Great book that integrates Spanish words and phrases via Abuela's dialogue. While some phrases are translated by the narrator, others will be understood by context. A glossary is appended. Illustrations combine lovely watercolor and pastels. |
