In the Haunted House by Eve Bunting, Susan Meddaugh (Illustrator) A spooky tale that kids will delight in at Halloween time. The story follows two children as they go through a haunted house - showing only their feet as they enter and leave a room. The suspense is heightened with the chilling descriptions and scratchy pencil and watercolor illustrations. Clues are found throughout the house that explain away SOME of the spookies found during the tour. The text is fun to read aloud during storytime. The book isn't TOO scary - but is quite descriptive and inspires creativity for kids' writing lessons. |
