The United States Marine Corps Memorial is located near Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. The figures stand 32 feet high with a 60 foot bronze flagpole. A cloth flag flies 24 hours a day. Thought the statue depicts the famous incident at Iwo Jima during World War II, the monument is dedicated to all Marines that have given their life in defense of our country since 1775.
