Mothers Day Recipes for Kids

Below is a collection Mother's Day recipes. Kids love to spoil mom! You will find great cooking ideas for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert!

Bacon and Onion Topped Rib Roast
What a simple but elegant meat to serve Mom on her special day. It doesn't take a lot of effort to put together and the best part is that while it cooks you can pamper Mom in other ways too.

Berry Bliss for Mom
Mom will think you worked all day making this cake. French vanilla instant pudding and pie filling will also work. If Mom is more into citrus fruit such as oranges, lemons and limes use those and use lemon pudding instead.

Braised Carrots in Maple Sauce
These carrots make a great side dish to serve with pork. You can even add a little crunch to them by stirring in 1/4 C of chopped pecans just before serving.

Cheesy Rainbow Appetizers
Dazzle Mom with these appetizers before her big meal. If she is not fond of olives you can use mushrooms or pimiento slices instead.

Chicken Alfredo and Wild Rice Casserole
If you don't have cooked rice on hand use 1 C of uncooked rice and prepare as directed on the package. White rice can also be substituted for the wild rice. To toast almond slivers place them on an ungreased cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven. Stirring often toast for 5 minutes or until a golden brown.

Chicken and More Spinach Salad
This salad takes a little time to prepare but will be worth it when you see the look on Mom's eyes when she tastes it. For a little crunch add toasted pecan pieces to the salad before adding the chicken slices.

Creamy Asparagus Noodles
Asparagus makes this dish a hit. Finding fresh asparagus can be a difficult task. If fresh asparagus is not available substitute cut up broccoli instead.

Crispy Peach Breakfast Cup
This makes a great breakfast for Mom on her special day. Serve it to her in bed with a nice hot cup of tea, flowers and her special card.

Crunchy Chewy Coconut Cookies
If Mom's not fond of walnuts try adding some dried fruit to these cookies. Dice up some dried apples, cranberries or apricots and add to the mixture instead.

Easy Skillet Fries
These potatoes are so easy to do even a child can help fix them. They go great with bacon and eggs for breakfast or as a side dish with lunch or dinner. One half cup of chopped onions and a half cup of chopped peppers can also be added for a special treat.

Fruit Salad with Warm Shrimp
Note: when heating the salad dressing in the skillet do not let it boil. Boiling the dressing will cause it to become too hot. When poured over the salad it will cook the fruit and lettuce causing them to wilt. It will also cause the dressing to separate. Canned watercress, drained may be used instead of fresh if you prefer.

Fruit That Says I Love You Mom
What better way to tell Mom how much she is appreciated. This fruit salad made by a child's own hands will give Mom that special something to always remember. Any type of fruit will work. If you can find letter shaped cutters cut out "I Love You Mom" and place across the center of the plate before adding the fruit around it.

Ham and Pineapple Rice Dinner
This is a simple full meal deal to serve to Mom on her special day. It's a little different but Mom with enjoy every bite. Add a scrumptious dessert and you have the perfect meal to show Mom just how special she is.

Herbed Steak Salad
This steak salad will hit the spot when it comes to giving Mom the perfect Mother's Day dinner. Tomatoes, onion and mushrooms can also be added if you like. If you have leftover steak or prefer another type of steak use it instead of the round steak. Adjust cooking time for browning and heating.

Hickory Smoked Double Grilled Cheese
This is a special twist to an old favorite. It's easy enough that you can even help a child prepare it for Mom. Add a dish of cottage cheese or applesauce and give Mom a lunch she won't soon forget.

Just for Mom Tuna Melt
This sandwich is a perfect addition to any surprise Mother's Day lunch. Be sure to taste the tuna before spreading it on the bread because you may need to add a little salt. Because tuna and mayonnaise both contain a lot of salt it should not be added until after it's mixed together and tasted.

Mom's Mocha Delight
If your Mom likes chocolate and coffee this dessert is right up her alley. Chocolate chip cookies can be used in place of the sandwich cookies. Instead of topping this dessert off with another cookie add a red or green maraschino cherry.

Mother's Day Breakfast Biscuit
These biscuits will have Mom wondering just how hard you worked to make them. Add a slice of bacon or ham and an egg and she will have the perfect breakfast biscuit. Have extras? Give Mom a chicken salad sandwich at lunch too.

Orange Smoothie Just for Mom
This drink will have Mom asking for more. Garnish with a cute little umbrella and a piece of orange slice and give Mom 30 minutes to bask in the dream of being on the sunny beach. She will treasure the moment forever. Any type of frozen juice concentrate will work.

Parmesan Baked Fish Fillets
If Mom likes fish she is sure to love this dish. If fresh fish fillets are available they can be used in place of the frozen fish. Add a salad and a nice dessert and enjoy.

Pineapple Cupcakes Upside Down
Yum - this recipe makes 12 cupcakes!

Pizzazz Pepperoini Salad
If Mom is a pepperoni pizza lover but hasn't indulged in one of her favorites for awhile because she is trying to cut back fix her this salad. Sliced mushrooms or sliced green olives can also be added.

Steak Salad with Asian Chili Sauce
Moms love a salad and this one can't be beat. If you can't find Asian sweet chili sauce in your local supermarket Mom's favorite Italian style dressing works just as well.

Strawberry and Oats Streusel Bars
Mom will love having one of these tasty bars for breakfast, a snack or even as her Mothers Day dinner dessert. If she's not fond of strawberries try blueberries, raspberries or rhubarb instead.

Strawberry Topped Cinnamon Rolls
It's a guarantee that Mom will be surprised when you serve her one of these little treats. Add a cup of coffee or tea and it will be a breakfast she will always remember. Fresh strawberries or fresh or frozen rhubarb can also be used.

Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms Topped with Cheese
Dads - if you want to pamper Mom on her day try this wonderful dish. If crab is not on the top of her list of favorite foods, fill the mushroom with shredded pork or beef instead.

Tarragon Potato and Pea Salad
Tarragon makes a great accent for potatoes and peas.

Turkey Burger Pita Wraps
Mom will love these new style burgers. Add some fried potatoes and a fruit salad and you have the making for a perfect Mother's Day lunch.

We Love You Mom Chicken Salad
Place a T of this chicken salad on homemade biscuits and serve it to Mom for her lunch. Add a bouquet of flowers and a card and she will know just how much you truly appreciate her.

Whipped Up Coffee Dessert
If Mom is a coffee lover this dessert will blow her away. Top her dessert cup with a spoon of whipped topping and sprinkle the topping with chocolate sprinkles.
