- Taft loved baseball. He was the first president to throw the first pitch at a game on opening day.

- Taft graduated 2nd in his class at Yale.

- In 1921, after his presidency, Taft was appointed chief justice of the Supreme Court of the United States by President Harding.

- "Big Bill" Taft weighed 332 pounds. He was the largest president.

- President Taft had a pet cow named Pauline Wayne. Pauline gave him fresh milk every day.

- New Mexico and Arizona became states during Taft's presidency. In 1912, there were a total of 48 states.

- Skull and Bones was a secret society at Yale University founded in 1932. William Howard Taft (Bones 1878) was son of the Skull and Bones' co-founder (Alphonso Taft). William H. Taft was the first of 3 Bonesman to become U.S. President.
