- Wilson had dyslexia, a learning disorder.

- Wilson reformed the banking system, fought for an 8 hour day for workers and supported laws against child labor.

- Wilson tried to keep the U.S. out of World War I, however after German submarines sank American ships, the United States declared war on Germany on April 6, 1917.

- Wilson tried to create a League of Nations - a way to solve issues through talking instead of fighting. Congress did not support his plan.

- Wilson won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on a League of Nations.

- The Nineteenth Amendment, that gave women the right to vote was passed during Wilson's term.

- After the U.S. entered World War I, the Wilson's brought a flock of sheep to the White House lawn. The sheep trimmed the grounds, which saved on gas and labor. Wool from the sheep was sold to earn money for the Red Cross.
