Use the interactive math mat to create or solve number sentences. How many different combinations can you make? Write your number sentences on a separate piece of paper. Check your work.

This activity is great to use in a learning center or in front of the whole class using a computer projector or SMART Board™. It is also printable and can be used in paper form. To print the addition mat, click on the printer icon that says "Full Page Print." Be sure to select "landscape" mode for your printer. This can also be used to jump start number stories. Have some students write a story about the Valentine hearts and other students solve the math problem. Be creative!
