A Promise is a Promise by Robert N. Munsch (Author), Michael Kusugak (Author), Vladyana Krykorka (Illustrator) Allashua disobeys her parents and goes ice fishing. She encounters the Qallupilluq - an imaginary Inuit creature that lives in Hudson Bay and wears a parka made of loon feathers. He is known to grab children who walk near the cracks in the ice. Allashua is caught and promises to return with her brothers and sisters. A great multicultural study book that teaches culture and morals.
